Using 60cm-per-pixel resolution satellite data, we developed an AI-method to detect slums over a decade period between 2014 and 2024.
Our analysis identifies a trend of increasing slum coverage in most countries since 2020, contrary to projections in the UN-Habitat report which suggests a global decline in slum areas.
